Inclusive Public Education

Advocating for a more inclusive public education system is one of the top priorities of the Public Advocate’s Office. We believe families and communities are allies to the public education system and their voices are essential in creating schools that can adequately meet the needs of our diverse students. While we are concerned with all education policies, we are focused on making sure all parents have a voice in the decisions affecting their children's schools. In addition, we are focused on making sure policies affecting our most vulnerable students –students with disabilities, homeless children, and English learners are sound and just.
