Sample Letter to the Editor
To The Editor:
I am outraged that Mayor Bloomberg is trying to take over 4,100 teachers out of our classrooms. Under the Mayor’s proposed budget, at least 80% of our public schools will lose teachers – a decision that will impact parents across New York City.
Even worse, while the Mayor is firing teachers, the Department of Education is spending millions on things that are simply less important, like technology consultants, teacher recruitment and even its office of public affairs.
The Mayor needs to put our children first and make better choices so we can keep teachers in the classroom.
