“Wadleigh’s students and faculty have endured years of steep budget cuts and the loss of critical programs. After struggling without support for so long, their voices have finally been heard by the City. I commend Chancellor Walcott for calling off plans to truncate Wadleigh’s middle school—a ‘downsizing’ of this school which so many of us opposed. These turnabouts are all too rare, and the victory is a credit to this vibrant school community that never gave up. I look forward to working further with parents and teachers to keep Wadleigh on the right track, and to ensure today’s announcement is followed by the concrete support Wadleigh needs to succeed.”
