“This Supreme Court seems determined to dismantle our democracy with one disastrous ruling after another. In its decision to strike down limits on corporate political spending in Montana, the Court doubled down on the ridiculous premise that corporations are people, and money equals free speech. If we are going to protect our elections, we need to look beyond the courts to do it. We are ramping up our pressure on the Securities and Exchange Commission to shed light on shadowy election spending by publicly-traded companies. At pension funds and in legislatures across the country, we will undo the damage this Court has done.”
