"Shana Tovah U'Metukah! I wish a happy and sweet new year to all in the Jewish community beginning to celebrate Rosh Hashanah today.
"As the sound of the Shofar echoes across our city and our world, its tone serves as a call to reflect on the year past and prepare for the one to come. May we celebrate now, and live in the days to come, in a spirit of solidarity and safety. While fears of antisemitism and hate are all-too real in our city, so too are the enduring values of unity, understanding, and empathy which bind us together across communities. May the year 5786 be one of peace and light for our families and our neighbors, even as we confront troubling and uncertain times.
"These holy days are an opportunity for renewal – to pronounce ‘HaShem’ God as our ‘Melech’ King and to advance on the path of self improvement, and be sealed for a Kesivah and a Chasima Tovah in the Book of Life. "Ah gut gebentsht yohr to everyone celebrating the possibilities before us in this new year!'
