Youth Engagement

Youth & Student Led Organizing

We are proud to work with youth-led and youth-centered organizations across the city, on everything from policy to actions to advocacy to activism.

What have we done?

We have organized many public forums and supported youth-organized events and rallies. We believe all young people deserve equitable resources and a safe learning environment in which to thrive. That starts with centering young people as decision and solutions makers themselves in our communities, leadership, and polices.

In 2020, we supported and showed up for youth-led organizations fighting to save and expand Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and desegregate NYC schools. We co-created various youth and youth-leadership centered events, including the first- ever virtual Town Hall on Mental Health & Remote Learning, Restorative Justice as Healing During COVID-19, Save Unity Works: Invest in New York's Youth, and more. We know decisions across our city will only be best when young people are a part of informing and leading the solutions we seek.
